AFC Rushden & Diamonds Academy is pleased to announce they are now taking applications for open trialists for its successful Academy for the 2014/15 season from U9 – U16 age groups.
TRIALS WILL BE HELD THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER HOWEVER AN EARLY APPLICATION IS ADVISED. SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE ADVISED DETAILS VIA EMAIL AND WILL JOIN PLAYERS THAT HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FROM OUR NETWORK OF TALENT IDENTIFIERS.
U9-U11 PLAYERS WILL TRIAL FOR OUR ACADEMY DEVELOPMENT SQUADS,
U12-U16 PLAYERS WILL TRIAL FOR OUR ACADEMY SQUADS
The Academy’s programme for learning is naturally centered on football activities, yet we consider that we can offer many other facets which are important for a young person to develop as an individual also. In addition to helping young players enhance their football ability, we will also educate them on aspects of fitness, nutrition and health issues.
The AFC Rushden & Diamonds Academy will provide a learning environment where young players can develop their football skills and understanding of the game under the guidance and tuition of highly qualified coaches and other professional personnel. In addition to twice weekly coaching sessions, players will benefit from occasional use of match analysis software and at older age groups, bespoke strength and conditioning programs based on an initial bio-mechanical assessment.
We also teach our player to become reflective about their performance and attitude as we strongly believe that we do not learn from experience itself but we learn from reflecting on experiences and adjusting our performance accordingly. We seek to ensure that participation in the activities of our Academy will help all our young players to acquire good values, which will serve them well in the future be it in football or otherwise. Involvement with the Academy will hopefully teach the players the importance of loyalty, dedication, diligence and respect for others.
Our aim is to support in nurturing a players social and interpersonal skills so that he develops into a confident, courteous and assertive individual along with becoming a talented footballer
This opportunity is ideal for players currently attending player development centres while also playing for local sides who feel they are ready to take the next step in their football education along with players that have already had experience of playing within an Academy system.
