Pre-Season Friendly – The James Victory Cup

An AFC Rushden & Diamonds XI lifted the James Victory Cup with a 3-1 win away to Buckingham Town on Thursday evening. An Alfie Taylor hatrick at Manor Fields sealed the Diamonds first win during their pre-season campaign. The James Victory Cup was presented to the Robins in 1946 by Mrs James to mark the end of World War Two, and is competed for during pre-season between the Robins and an invited opponent. The cup is solid silver.
