Huntingdon Town v AFC Rushden & Diamonds

AFC Rushden & Diamonds make a short trip east on Saturday to face Huntingdon Town in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division.

Details of admission prices will be added here as provided by the host club. There is a large car park at the ground, although fans reported there were problems getting away after the game last season due to congestion issues.

Please monitor AFC Rushden & Diamonds Twitter feed (@AFCRD) if the weather conditions suggests the fixture may be in any doubt.

Our Opponents

Huntingdon Town FC was formed in 1995, and after a period in Cambridgeshire Leagues they joined the UCL in 2003. They were promoted to the UCL Premier in 2012, and finished in an impressive fourth place in their first season in the Premier, followed by the runners up position last season. They are nicknamed the Croms based on the fact that Oliver Cromwell was born in the town in 1599.

After a bright start to the season with a long unbeaten run their fortunes have been rather mixed in recent weeks, with manager Seb Hayes stepping down early in the new year, to be replaced by former Sileby assistant manager Ian Edge.

Declan Rogers joined the Diamonds from Huntingdon, where he was the top scorer and club captain.

The Croms club website is here and their Twitter feed here. They play in red shirts and shorts.

Getting There

To reach Jubilee Park (PE28 2NR) it is worth noting that the ground is outside the town on the road leading to Kings Ripton. For a map and driving directions for the 29 miles trip from the Dog & Duck see here.

Specific directions supplied by the club are as follows: At the A1 / A14 Brampton Hut roundabout, follow signs for A14 East until reaching the Spittals Interchange roundabout, Follow the A141 towards St Ives/March and go over 3 roundabouts. Take next left turn at traffic lights towards Kings Ripton and the ground is on the left.

Reaching the ground via Public Transport is not really an option – see the Traveline website for details.
