The club would like to thank all candidates who stood for election – it has been widely acknowledged that the standard of the candidates standing for election was very high and many AFC Rushden & Diamonds members commented that they found it difficult to decide who to vote for.
At the weekend, the newly-elected board attended a Supporters Direct Board Member Development training course and it has been agreed that there will be a short period in which to assess the operation of the club before the roles on the new board are announced.
Speaking to afcdiamonds.com on Sunday, Acting Chairman Ralph Burditt said “I am very honoured to have been chosen by the members to be part of the club’s first board. This is an exciting opportunity for all of us to play a part in taking AFC Rushden & Diamonds forward towards future success. All of the candidates stood for election with the same ideals – of community focus, promoting “Football for All” and to uphold the “One Fan, One Vote” principle. Using this ethos we hope to build a model club which will be an example to all and I am delighted that we can now get started in earnest.”
