Additional Shirt Logo to Support Anti-Discrimination Initiatives

Eagle-eyed AFC Rushden & Diamonds fans may have spotted an additional logo on the back of the club shirts.

The logo is that of the “Just a Ball Game?” which amongst its aims are to raise awareness about equality and diversity, combat discrimination and homophobia in football/sport.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds Chairman Ralph Burditt commented:

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to re-affirm the club’s relationship with JBG? and to re-iterate the message that discrimination of all forms has no place in football. Since we first established out partnership with JBG?, the campaign has continued its superb work in fighting homophobic discrimination and we are proud to display the JBG? logo on our shirt.”

Just a Ball Game? spokesperson Lindsay England also added the following:

” Following another busy LGBT History Month for us at Just a Ball Game? this February,we are delighted to learn that AFC R&D will be wearing our logo on their home shirts for the rest of the season to promote our campaign work.We at JBG? are very proud of the partnership we have built up with the community based football club which aims to challenge the many forms of discrimination within the game.

“The volunteers behind AFC R&D are totally focused on issues around LGBT people and challenging what is seen as homophobia or anti-gay and in many ways are leading the way in helping to make football at grass roots level inclusive of those who identify as being part of an LGBT community. “
