AFC Rushden & Diamonds Unveil New Signing

AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Conor Bell from Wellingborough Whitworth. 16 year old Conor is the cousin of former Rushden & Diamonds midfielder David Bell, now at Coventry City.

Conor put in a commanding performance for Whitworth against AFC R&D in a pre-season friendly between the two sides back in August, with the Wellingborough side running out 3-0 winners.

Conor actually played for the Diamonds in a pre-season trial game against Rothwell Corinthians, but had already committed to signing for Wellingborough Whitworth. He has scored 3 goals from central midfield for the Flourmen this season.

Conor has been allocated squad number 22, and will be available for selection for this Thursday’s top of the table clash against Cogenhoe United.

In other squad news, defender Leeson Baker has left the club to re-join Rushden & Higham United. Leeson appeared for the Diamonds in several pre-season friendlies and was an unused substitute for the club’s first two home games, but failed to make a competitive appearance.
