AFC Rushden & Diamonds Ladies are to display the logo of the charity “Niamh’s Next Step” on their shirts. They decided to help promote the charity that was set up to promote awareness of Neuroblastoma in memory of five-year old Niamh Curry from Wellingborough, who lost her battle against the disease earlier this year.
Details of the Niamh’s Next Step charity, which is raising money to help other children and their families affected by the disease, as well as raising awareness of the condition can be found here.
They have secured shirt sponsorship from CC Transport (Northants) with an agreement to use the charity logo on the shirts. and are still looking for other sponsorship for the team, including training kit, tracksuit, polo tops and rainjacket sponsors.
For the County Cup game at the weekend they were able to get a temporary logo on their shirts – as pictured (right and below) – and will be getting a permanent and clearer logo in the near future.
Ladies team midfielder Claire Stancliffe is helping to organise the sponsorship, so if you can help please contact her at clairestancliffe@live.co.uk. The ladies team play in the Northants Women’s Football League, and play matches all over Northamptonshire, and are currently one of the front runners in the league – see here for details.
