AFC R&D Snapchat Service Launch at St Ives

If you’re looking for a way to keep in touch with the action on match days, AFCRD is launching a Snapchat service which will run alongside the well established and informative Twitter feed and Facebook updates. We trialled the service last season, and hope to cover one or two games in August, starting with last night’s game at St Ives, with a full launch in September, so this will be a chance to get feedback on the service in its early days.

To give those who are not currently Snapchat subscribers on their mobile devices an insight into what Snapchat is about, we have uploaded last night’s snapchat video as a YouTube video here. Please remember this is designed for mobile viewing, hence the unusual aspect ratio.

With promotion to Step 4 and the Southern League, the team and supporters will be travelling slightly further afield. For fans unable to make it to the game, Snapchat is a brilliant way to experience the match day atmosphere and keep track of the action via frequent updates consisting of short video clips and photos. It’ll then be possible to watch the entire ‘story’ for up to 24 hours after the game.

We hope to provide this service at as many games as possible this season. So, if you want to know when the goals go in at Godalming, when it’s half time at Hanwell, or just see the dug outs at the Dog & Duck, add afcrd on Snapchat and follow the story during the match.

Snapchat is available for use with smartphones and can be downloaded for iOS or Android devices. To enable us to cover as many matches as possible, if you’re interested in helping out with making a story over the coming season, email jon.ward@afcdiamonds.com.

Don’t forget that AFCRD also has an Instagram account, so if you’re at the match mention @afcrd and tag your pictures with #afcrd and we’ll repost our favourites.
