Oxford City FC was the venue for the NERF Junior Premier League National Cup Final between AFC Rushden & Diamonds Under 16s and FAB Academy Under 16s on Saturday 1st June 2019.
A tight final was won by AFC Rushden & Diamonds with Goals from Charlie Pearson 2 (9 / 43 Mins) and William Jones (78 Mins). The Final Score AFC Rushden & Diamonds 3 – FAB Academy 2.
Under 16s Coach (and First Team Manager) Andy Peaks said of the achievement – ‘I am massively proud of the Boys most of which have been with the club since Under 12s. To be crowned National Champions for the Under 16s (the last Age Group within the Junior Premier League structure) is a great recognition for this group of Players and reward for their efforts and commitment to AFC Rushden & Diamonds. This is a very strong group of Players coming through the Academy Structure and as I have worked with and trusted them for so long provides genuine optimism for potential future First Team Players’.
Martin Brock (Chairman NERF Junior Premier League) added – ‘Well Done to you all as a Team. Parents, Players and Peaksy put the club first and showed their quality throughout’.
