AFC Rushden & Diamonds v Aylesbury FC
AFC Rushden & Diamonds will return to the Dog and Duck for their first home game in September when Aylesbury FC are the visitors for a Southern League Division One Central fixture. The Moles are one of the early front runners in the Division, so this game will represent a stiff test for the Diamonds – see here for the current league table.

Please note that there has been extensive remodelling of both the pedestrian and vehicular access to the ground over the summer – please follow designated routes. There is also continuing work in London Road which will also result in some local parking restrictions and pedestrian access alterations.

Our Opponents
The Moles were originally founded in London shortly before the Second World War, but moved to Aylesbury in 1949 when they were known as Stocklake FC. At the turn of the millennium they merged with Belgrave FC to be known as Haywood United, playing at Haywood Way, Aylesbury and then joined the Spartan South Midlands League. In 2005 they changed their name to Aylesbury Vale FC, and a further change to Aylesbury FC preceded their promotion to the Southern League in 2010.
Aylesbury’s strip is red shirts with black shorts. Their website is here and their twitter feed here. They are managed by Steve Bateman.
The Dog and Duck
For directions to the Dog and Duck see here, where you will also find details of car parking options. You will find a range of bars and catering facilities, as well as a Club Shop. There is covered seating available, as well as two covered standing areas. You can see a stadium plan that maps out these facilities here, along with details of catering facilities (including a snack bar menu / prices with details of the famous Diamond Burger). For this game onwards there will be an additional tea bar near to Dale’s Bar.
There is always a need for additional volunteers to help with ongoing maintenance and matchday work, as detailed here.
