Our Opponents
In its current guise Cogenhoe United FC was formed in 1967, and initially played in the Central Northants Football Combination before joining the UCL in 1985 as they moved into their Compton Park home. They were promoted to the UCL Premier in 1987, where they have remained ever since. They won the UCL Premier in the 2004-05 season, with ex-RDFC striker Darren Collins scoring 50 goals that campaign, and he went on to become their manager in 2007.
They are nicknamed the Cooks, and their club website is here and their Twitter feed here. They play in blue shirts and shorts. For the first part of this season they were managed by Andy Marks, but he has recently moved abroad and Paul Lamb has taken over the reins.
The Cooks have had a good season so far, progressing to third in the league, including holding free-scoring Deeping Rangers to a 0-0 draw last weekend and recording a 100% record of success during October.
A number of Diamonds players have spent time at Compton Park, including Alex Deakin and Matt Gearing. Ex-R&DFC Youth Team player Lewis Hallford has recently joined the Cooks.
