AFC Rushden & Diamonds v Deeping Rangers – Tuesday 4th September

AFC Rushden & Diamonds will be playing in the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday evening when they host Deeping Rangers in the Preliminary Round Replay. The two teams drew 1-1 at Outgang Road. There will be a bucket collection at the game for Jason Kilbride, the Deeping midfielder (and former Diamond) who suffered a serious ankle injury in the original tie.

If the scores are level after 90 minutes, extra-time will be played, followed by penalties if required.

The winners of the tie will play at Hayes & Yeading United in the First Qualifying Round of the competition on Saturday 8th September.

Admission is £10 adults and £7 concessions. Season Tickets are not valid for this game.

As the replay with Deeping Rangers is under Football Association rules no alcohol may be consumed within the ground. Consequently the club has decided to apply the following ground rules for this match.

  1. The main bar will stay open for the duration of the game.
  2. No glasses or bottles may be brought into the ground and outside the two bar areas.
  3. Dales Bar will not serve alcohol at all at this match but will be open for other refreshments.
  4. The Club reserve the right to change the rules at short notice should there be any abuse of the rules or the match situation warrants such a change.”

AFC Rushden & Diamonds play at Hayden Rd, Rushden NN10 0HX – see here for a map of the ground and local area. The ground itself is best accessed from the west. Take the A6 Rushden and Higham bypass, and exit at the junction with Newton Road. Follow the road past the cemetery, and take the sharp right hand turn immediately after the Risdene Academy onto Hayden Road. The ground is approximately a quarter of a mile on the left.

Our Opponents

Deeping Rangers FC was founded in 1966, starting in the Peterborough & District Leagues. They joined the UCL in 1999, narrowly missing promotion from Division One in their first season, but they then won the league the following season, and have remained in the Premier Division since then. They won the UCL Premier in 2006-07 – see here for more details of their history.
