AFC Rushden & Diamonds will host fellow promotion hopefuls Eynesbury Rovers on Tuesday evening at the Dog & Duck in the in the ChromaSport and Trophies United Counties League Division One (KO 7:45). Following the games at the weekend, with Oadby Town being defeated, this game will be the biggest in AFC Rushden & Diamonds short history, as both teams will know that victory will give them the edge over the other in the push for promotion.
Rovers are in a rich vein of form, and their six wins and one draw during February earned their management team Martin Field and Matt Plumb the manager of the month award. They continued this during March, then defeated Northampton Sileby Rangers at the start of April, before battling back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against promotion rivals Oadby Town a week ago along with a victory at the weekend meaning they head the UCL1 form table along with the Diamonds, with both teams being on a long unbeaten run.
