Tuesday 3rd December 2013
AFC Rushden & Diamonds v Newport Pagnell Town
After a busy November, the Diamonds will start December with the visit of Newport Pagnell Town to the Dog & Duck in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division. This will be the Diamonds 18th league game this season, taking them to the half-way point in terms of league games – although they have already played more games this season than they did until mid-March last season. Barring a replay in the FA Vase game on Saturday, it will be the last midweek game in a run of eight consecutive midweek games for the club. At the moment there are no other evening games scheduled this season, with several Saturday slots still remaining for any rearranged games.
Admission prices are detailed here. There are details on how to become a member of AFC R&D here. Match Status information is here.
Our Opponents
Newport Pagnell Town FC was formed in 1963 as Newport Pagnell Wanderers as an alternative to the Aston Martin works team. They changed to their current name in 1972 as they moved to their Willen Road ground. They joined the UCL in 1973.
You can see more details on their history on their archived website here.
The Swans have had a challenging season so far, and had a mixed November, with victories over Peterborough Northern Star and Sileby Rangers but a heavy defeat against Deeping Rangers. They beat Holbeach 4-1 towards the end of October, but then lost the next game 6-0 to Yaxley.
Their club colours are green and white hoops and the Swans are managed by Darren Lynch assisted by recent appointees Daren Dykes and Ben Hill. Their website is here (with the usual warning about it playing videos without warning, being a Pitchero website), and their twitter feed here.
The Dog and Duck
