Our Opponents

Oadby Town joined the UCL in 2012-13 after they transferred from the East Midlands Counties League, narrowly missing out on promotion in their first campaign in Division One, before winning the title last season. They are based in the town of Oadby, to the south-east of Leicester. The Club was formed shortly before World War II, and they played in Leicestershire leagues until winning promotion to the Midland Alliance in 1999, but they dropped to the step 6 East Midlands Counties League for the 2011-12 season, narrowly missing out on promotion before their transfer to the UCL.

Since winning the UCL1 title they have undergone a number of changes, with few of last season’s side remaining at the club, and they are currently one place off the bottom of the UCL Premier table.

The Poachers were managed by Steve Walker at the start of the campaign, but he has recently left the club and Mick Duffy has taken charge on a temporary basis. Their home colours are red and white halved shirts with black shorts. Their club website is here, and their twitter feed is here.

The Diamonds have yet to record a victory against Oadby, losing 5-1 at Wigston Road before a 2-2 draw at the Dog and Duck in the 2012-13 campaign.
