This is an all-pay game. Entrances prices for this game are the normal cup tie £6 Adults, £3 Concessions (Over 60s, students, U16s) and £1 U8s.

This the further stage the Diamonds have reached in this competition. In the earlier rounds the Diamonds have knocked out AFC Dunstable, Hoddesdon Town, Woodford United, AFC Wulfrunians and Graham St Prims.

Should the tie still be level after 90 minutes then extra time will be played, but if the scores are still level after 120 minutes there will be a replay at Canal St, Aylestone, Leicester – Date / Time TBA.

N.B. As this is a game in an FA competition, the FA rules regarding alcohol must be observed, meaning that no alcohol can be consumed outside of the clubhouse, and to ensure this there will be no alcohol sales from 2:45pm until the game is finished – please help us by observing this rule.

Match Status information is here.

Our Opponents

St Andrews FC are from Aylestone, Leicester, and play in the East Midlands Counties League (Step 6) – the same league as the Diamonds’ previous Vase opponents Graham St Prims. They were formed in 1973, and played in local Leicestershire Leagues until 2008 when they joined the EMCL Their website is here and their Twitter feed here.

Like the Diamonds, St Andrews started in this season’s competition in the first qualifying round, and this will be their first away tie. Their previous games in the competition have been:

  • First Qualifying Round: Lutterworth Athletic (UCL Division One (Step 6)) H 6-2
  • Second Qualifying Round: Clipstone (Northern Counties East Division One (Step 6)) H 3-1
  • First Round: Lincoln Moorlands Railway (Northern Counties East Premier (Step 5)) H 4-0
  • Second Round: Brocton (Midland Football Combination Premier (Step 6)) H 2-1
  • Third Round: Bolehall Swifts (Midland Football Combination Premier (Step 6)) H 4-1

The Saints are in an excellent vein of form. They have had six wins in their last seven games, with their only defeat being at the hands of Graham St Prims, although their fixture backlog and a three point deduction for fielding an ineligible player means they are rather lower in the league than their record suggests. They had topped the EMCL table at the start of the season before their cup exploits limited their involvement in league games.

Although they weren’t scheduled to have a game on Saturday 11th, they have managed one league game in 2014, with a victory away at Radford on Tuesday 7th January.

Their club colours are black and white striped shirts and black shorts, with a change strip of yellow shirts and white shorts. Their manager is Andy Purple.
