Our Opponents

Wellingborough Whitworth FC, or Whitworths as they are often known, were formed in 1973 with a basis of players from a Sunday League team known as the Victoria Millers.

The Flourmen have played at Victoria Mill in London Road since their formation. They joined the UCL in 1985, and have remained in Division One since then. They have had a fairly mixed season to date, and despite winning their first three league games they have dropped into the bottom half of the table.

Their joint managers are Matty Freeman and Steve Sargent, and Diamonds players Deven Ellwood and Jake Newman were at Victoria Mill last season. Those players scored three of the five goals when the Diamonds beat the Flourmen 5-3 after extra time in the UCL Knock-out Cup earlier in the season – report here.

They play in red and black stripes, and their club website is here.
