AFC Rushden & Diamonds will play the next game in their Pre-Season campaign on Wednesday evening when they are the hosts at Hillgrounds, Kempston for the first time, ahead of the new league season in the Southern League Division One East (EVO-STIK League South, East). The visitors are Winslow United who play in the Spartan South Midlands Division One (Step 6).
Admission prices will be £4 adults and £2 concessions for this game. Details of the full pre-season campaign are here, with the league season starting on 12th August.
The game is being played at Hillgrounds Stadium, Hillgrounds Road, Kempston, Bedfordshire MK42 8SZ – see here for directions from Rushden.
There is a newly resurfaced parking area at the ground as well as a nearby parking area for those using the other facilities in the area. There is a large clubhouse bar, as well as covered seating and standing on one side of the ground.
Access via public transport is typically using Bus 50 from Rushden Lakes / Rushden to Bedford. Operated by Stagecoach. Hourly service operating until 7pm – details here – interlinking with Service 49 to Kettering – details here. From Bedford bus station you can then take Bus 53 which takes the Hillgrounds Road loop – details here.
Bedford rail station is a 5-10 minute walk from the bus station.
