Louise Rainbow is the Treasurer of AFC Rushden & Diamonds Youth, with this section of the club helping to raise funds for a number of good causes, one of which is the Wilson’s Disease Support Group. Louise has received an email from the chairman of the Group, as shown below, and, on behalf of the Youth Section, she would like to thank and congratulate all the hard workers that have helped raised funds for this charity.
The Email was from Jerry Tucker, Chairman of the Wilson’s Disease Support Group.
Hello Louise I am the Chairman of WDSG-UK and on behalf of our members I would like to thank The Rushden & Diamonds Youth Football Team for selecting WDSG-UK to be your nominated charity and the funds you have raised for us over the last two years. The funds you have generated are a very significant contribution and will support our efforts to provide improved care for Wilson’s patients and their families across the UK.In particular we have been working to specify the patient requirements that a specialised service for the diagnosis and lifelong care of Wilson’s patients should provide under the guidelines of the UK Rare Disease Strategy. Having funds available to attend and present our patients requirements at influential meetings such as the BASL Wilson’s Special Interest Group will be extremely helpful. Having funds available has allowed WDSG-UK to put the patients perspective in developing research requirements and devote resources to help on NHS Specialised Commissioning Working Groups.
WDSG-UK is a charity determined to make sure the needs of Wilson’s patients, their families and friends are promoted in concert and ultimately addressed. Your support has been fantastic and very much appreciated ,once again many thanks.
With kindest regards Jerry Tucker
