Auto Windscreens decide not to take up option as Main Club Shirt Sponsor for next season

Auto Windscreens confirmed to the club last night that they would not be taking up their second and final year option as Main Club Shirt Sponsorship for the 2020-21 season.

Auto Windscreens the UK’s leading automotive glass repair and replacement company has backed the club since June 2017. Sadly because of the COVID 19 crisis, their business has suffered enormously in recent weeks, which led to their decision.

Along with the premature end to the season, and the current lack of assistance from the authorities and the FA, this demonstrates a further significant challenge for next season.

John Gregory, AFC Rushden & Diamonds Commercial Director, commented: “As you would understand the news yesterday and the loss of Auto Windscreens sponsorship for the 2020-21 season is a massive blow to the club. The 2019-20 season deal was worth £18,000, with an option for the same level of support for a second year subject to our retaining Step 3 football – which of course we have achieved. We offered several options to retain their support, including staged payments once Auto Windscreens were back fully trading.

“It further demonstrates, the valued support Steve Filsell and Fuelsell Multifuel Suppliers has given the Club at this time, when recently agreeing a new 2-year Back of Shirt Sponsorship deal.

“It will be difficult in the current climate, to plug the gap in our sponsorship budget for next season. However work starts now; both in finding a new Main Club Shirt Sponsor and searching for other ways to raise commercial revenues.

“If any National, East Midlands or Local Northamptonshire Company is able to help at this difficult time, then please contact John Gregory either by email marketing@afcdiamonds.com or by phone on 07788 102430.”
