When coming from the M1 North there are 2 different options to go through Hemel Hempstead or to join the M25 for 1 junction for the A41. The two routes vary dependant upon traffic. Take Junction 8, you will go directly on to the A414 straight over the next 4 roundabouts until you get to the bottom of the hill, where you will arrive at the Magic Roundabout. Take the second exit to the left off the system which is the exit for the A41 to Aylesbury/Berkhamsted. Follow the road past the B&Q and over the next junction and get in to the right hand lane as you go up the hill, take the A41 to Aylesbury/Berkhamsted. Your turn off is for Berkhamsted/Chesham, after the Service Station. Take the right hand lane in the slip road to the A416 to Chesham. Follow this road through Ashley Green (being careful of the speed trap!) past the college on your left, when you get to the bottom of the hill take a left turn at the mini roundabout.
