Aynsley McDonald leaves the Club

AFC Rushden & Diamonds regret to announce that Aynsley McDonald has this week taken the decision to leave the club for personal reasons, following a breach of discipline which saw him left out of the squad for last weekend’s game against Eynesbury Rovers.

Aynsley came through the youth ranks at Rushden & Diamonds and after a season at Corby Town in the Blue Square North, became one of AFC R&D manager Mark Starmer’s first signings in the summer. Going on to become Club Captain, he has started 11 of the Diamonds’ 13 competitive games this season.

Aynsley will now look to continue his footballing career elsewhere and everyone at AFC Rushden & Diamonds would like to thank him for his contribution to the club and to wish him well for the future.

Chris Hope has been appointed as the new AFC Rushden & Diamonds Club Captain.
