Barwell Incident Update

Supporters will be aware of an incident during the match v Barwell FC on September 26th 2020. Following the incident, a supporter appeared at Northampton Magistrates Court on May 25th 2021 where a charge of a racially aggravated public order offence was admitted. The supporter received a fine £1,136.

Following the conclusion of the court case, the Club’s Discipline Committee met in order to discuss any further action that should be taken. In conjuction with Northants Police Football Liaison Officer and taking into account the views of the players involved and our counterparts at Barwell FC, the supporter has been banned from attending all home games for a period of 5 years.

The Board thanks the vast majority of our supporters who create a family-friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Hayden Road but would remind everyone that any form of abuse or discrimination, at home or away, will not be tolerated. Should you witness any poor behaviour whilst watching the match, please report it to the nearest steward who will take any necessary action.
