AFC Rushden & Diamonds will play their next game in the Northern Premier League First Division South on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Nottinghamshire to face Basford United (KO 3pm).
Basford United play at Mill Street Playing Field, Greenwich Avenue, Basford, Nottingham NG6 0LD. Directions for the trip of around 75 miles can be found here. The club is running a coach to this fixture – details here. The ground is a short walk from Highbury Vale tram stop, with Nottingham City Trams linking to Nottingham or Bulwell Rail Stations. The two teams have already met at the Dog & Duck this season, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw – report here. They had previously met twice before at the Dog & Duck, with the Diamonds winning in the FA Vase in the 2012-13 season, and United winning in the FA Trophy game last season. This will be the first time the teams have met in Nottinghamshire. United have recently installed a 3G surface at Greenwich Avenue.
