The Club are delighted to confirm that central defender Josh Going and attacking midfielder Ben Morley have both signed Southern League forms for the coming season.
Morley is a skillful, quick and tenacious winger and a returning graduate from the AFC Rushden & Diamonds U21s youth system, having played with the Academy Under 21s for three years prior to playing last year for Wellingborough Town at Step 5. He is returning this year to be part of the new AFC Rushden & Diamonds Academy Under 23s.
He has 3 goals and 1 assist in 2 games in pre-season so far for the Under 23s and made his debut for the first team as a second half substitute in the Hillier Senior Cup win away at Cogenhoe United last week.
Josh Going is a centre half known for his strength and resilience who leads by example, demanding the utmost professionalism on and off the pitch. He is the current Academy U23s captain, having captained the AFC Rushden & Diamonds Academy Under 21s last season where he was awarded Man of the Match 6 times, and scored 5 goals with 3 assists. He has previous experience with Newcastle Town and Dunstable Town.
Andy Burgess: “Both are players who we feel will help supplement the first team players and will be involved going forwards. They are both very good young players with good attributes and players who we believe will develop further in and around our first team environment.”
