As the Club approaches the end of our Membership year, work is underway on preparing our accounts for the auditors and subsequently our Part Owners at our AGM. Whilst we are currently unable to provide a concrete date for the AGM to take place, the Board of Directors wishes to announce impending changes to the make-up of elected Directors and, therefore, an election to take place in the weeks leading up to the AGM.
As announced earlier in the year, Stacey Hawkins will bring to an end her twelve-year involvement on the Board as she stands down her position. Stacey will remain an active Board Member until the AGM and continues to support in the transition of her Secretarial duties. All at AFC Rushden & Diamonds wish to place on record their thanks to Stacey for the dedication and longevity that she has committed to the Club.
Having been elected to the Board during the EGM in November, James Anker has come to the end of his elected term. James has taken the decision that due to work commitments he will not stand for re-election. In his short time in post, James has supported throughout arguably the most tumultuous period in our Club’s history and has injected an unrivalled level of passion for the Club into the Boardroom. The re-introduction of the Community Club into Matchdays at Hayden Road is the work of James Anker solely and we all thank him for the sterling efforts he has shown during his tenure.
Roger Paterson has also signalled his intention to stand down from his role as a Director of the Club with immediate effect. In his time in the role, Roger has also provided support throughout the turbulent months encountered immediately after the EGM and counts the overseeing of the Club Shop and Volunteer Working Groups amongst the many achievements in his tenure. The Board of Directors thanks Roger for the efforts he has shown throughout his time in post and hope you will join them in thanking him for his service.
Following Roger’s decision to resign with immediate effect, the current makeup of the Board of Directors is of seven elected directors and three co-opted directors, thus remaining in line with the rules of the constitution that states the Club will have no fewer than six and no greater than twelve directors and also that co-opted directors shall not number more than a third of the number of those elected.
As we progress towards the completion of audited accounts, a date shall be set for the AGM which will allow us to provide a timeline for a Notice of Election. In the meantime, AFC Rushden & Diamonds are welcoming applications for an Election Officer. Please see the advertised vacancy below:
