Brad Harris reached a notable landmark in both his career and in the history of AFC Rushden & Diamonds on Saturday when he became the third player to play their 100th game for the club.
Following in the footsteps of Sam Brown, the first Diamonds player to achieve this feat, and Matt Gearing a fortnight earlier, Brad reached the 100 appearance milestone when he played in the Diamonds game against Desborough Town on Saturday 21st February 2015.
Brad Harris made his debut for the club on New Year’s Day 2013 against Northampton Spencer at the Dog and Duck, after joining the club from Desborough Town. He became a key member of the team that won promotion from UCL Division One in the 2012-13 season, making 22 appearances in a Diamonds shirt as the side went on a strong run from mid-January onwards.
The 24-year old midfielder then played a major part in the Diamonds strong first season at Step 5 level, playing in 42 games and scoring his first two goals for the club which helped him pick up the player of the month award in March 2014.
He has played a further 36 games this season, picking up a further player of the month award in October 2014, to complete his Diamonds’ century. Speaking after the game at Desborough, Brad highlighted two games in the hundred that had been the most memorable – the FA Cup win against Step 3 Cambridge City and the game against Northampton Spencer where the team clinched promotion to Step 5.
