Our Opponents
The Saints were founded in 1926 as mainly a juniors club but with the efforts of motivated volunteers they eventually began to see on-field success culminating in the 1952 Berks & Bucks FA Intermediate Cup.
Senior status followed and the team began to progress through the Parthenon League, London League, Spartan League (1963-1975) and Athenian League (1976-1984) before spending 20 years in the Isthmian League, including their 1987-88 championship season. In 2006, Chalfont St Peter left the Isthmian for the step 5 Spartan South Midlands League after the FA restructured step 4. Their six-year stay in the Spartan South was accompanied by consistent on-field success (a 60% win percentage) and culminated with their championship winning 2010-11 season and the most successful season in their history. Promotion to the Southern League Division 1 Central followed, with the team consistently finishing middle of the table from 2011 until the present.
Danny Edwards has been managing the team for 12 seasons now, with 258 games and 107 victories for The Saints up until the beginning of this season.
The two teams met at the Dog & Duck in September, with the Diamonds recording a 3-1 victory – report here.
Their website is here, and their Twitter feed here. Their club colours are red shirts and green shorts.
