Club Statement

Supporters will be aware of an incident during the 2nd half of the match against Barwell FC on Saturday, September 26th where racist abuse from a home supporter, aimed at the players, was reported to the match officials.

The supporter involved was, with the support of our matchday team, quickly identified and ejected from the ground. The incident has been reported to Northamptonshire Police and to the football authorities and the club will now conduct a thorough investigation. We would ask that anyone who heard the abuse please emails their observations to either Club Chairman, Ralph Burditt or Club Secretary, Stacey Hawkins as soon as possible. Email addresses can be found here – https://www.afcdiamonds.com/club-officials/

Racist abuse, or discrimination of any kind, is not acceptable and will not be tolerated at Hayden Road. AFC Rushden & Diamonds is a community football club and as such we pride ourselves on the tolerant, welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere created by our supporters and their good conduct both home and away. Any behaviour which falls below the high standards we set ourselves will be dealt with quickly and firmly and supporters whose behaviour brings the Club into disrepute will be banned from attending matches.

All supporters are reminded that entry into the ground constitutes acceptance of our ground regulations (https://www.afcdiamonds.com/afc-rushden-diamonds-ground-regulations/) and are encouraged to read our acceptable behaviour policy (https://www.afcdiamonds.com/afc-rushden-diamonds-acceptable-behaviour-statement/)
