It is with regret that AFC Rushden & Diamonds announce the resignation of Richard Parkes from his roles as Club Secretary and Director. Due to increased workload in his professional life, Richard felt that he was no longer in a position to give the roles the attention they require and tendered his resignation to the Board.
Speaking on Richard’s resignation, Club Chair Rob Usher commented: “Since Richard assumed the role of Club Secretary in the close season of 2023 his contribution has been outstanding, and his election to the Board of Directors last year provided a much needed injection of professionalism, determination and passion. Although I will miss Richard’s contribution I fully respect his reasons for needing to step down. On behalf of all at AFC Rushden & Diamonds, I place on record our thanks for Richard’s contribution.”
Immediately following the AGM, the Board of seven elected directors met, in line with the constitution, and appointed the following officers:
- Chair – Rob Usher
- Vice Chair – Alex Raspin
- Club Secretary – Nikki Roberts
- Society Secretary – Brett Abbott
- Treasurer – Sean Buckley
The Board also agreed to advertise publicly for Part Owners who wish to be considered for co-option for the following three roles, which are felt essential to ensuring the immediate ambitions of the Club:
- Director of Academy
- Fundraising and Grant Writing Director
- Administrative Director
