Cogenhoe United v AFC Rushden & Diamonds
AFC Rushden & Diamonds make the short trip to Compton Park to face Cogenhoe United on Tuesday evening in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division. The two teams are currently in strong positions in the league, although both have played more games than Huntingdon Town.
The two sides first met at the Dog & Duck in November 2013 when the Diamonds recorded a 4-2 victory – report here. They then battled to a goalless draw at Compton Park earlier this year – report here – at a time that Diamonds’ Assistant Manager Paul Lamb was at the Cooks’ helm.
Details of admission prices and any parking recommendations will be added here when provided by the host club, along with any details of catering arrangements.
Our Opponents
In its current guise Cogenhoe United FC was formed in 1967, and initially played in the Central Northants Football Combination before joining the UCL in 1985 as they moved into their Compton Park home. They were promoted to the UCL Premier in 1987, where they have remained ever since. The won the UCL Premier in the 2004-05 season, with ex-RDFC striker Darren Collins scoring 50 goals that campaign, and he went on to become their manager in 2007.
They are nicknamed the Cooks, and their club website is here and their Twitter feed here. They play in blue shirts and shorts. Once again they are managed by Andy Marks, who had a short sabbatical from the role in the middle of last season.
