Darren Purse has signed Southern League forms for AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
U18 MAA Academy manager Purse has recently been playing for Staines Town in the Ryman League Premier Division and is currently between clubs.
Darren is a vastly experienced 38-year-old defender, having played in all four divisions of the Football League. He appeared 168 times for Birmingham City and 111 times for Cardiff City. He also appeared over 50 times for Sheffield Wednesday and over 40 times for Plymouth Argyle. In his younger days he was also an England U-21 international.
Subject to the paperwork being completed Darren will be available for the matchday squad at Bedford on Boxing Day.
