We welcomed MK Dons to the Malcolm Arnold Academy for a series of friendles across all Development and Academy age groups…
A really successful day throughout with some good football and individual performances.
Many thanks for MK Dons for taking part and of course to all players, the coaches and parents of both clubs, without whom this wouldn’t have been possible.
Development
U9/10s combined – won 8-7
U11s – won 16-3
U12s – won 16-4
Academy
U12s – won 7-1. Goalscorers included William Jones, Jake Bamsey, Charlie Pearson.
U13s – won 7-1.
Overall dominant performance from Diamonds. A hat trick in the first period for Ed Farrell really set the tone for the game and apart from the third period where MK Dons got on the score sheet it was a rather one sided affair. Diamonds played out from the back and through the thirds well at times and created a lot of chances.
Credit to MK Dons as their attitude throughout was excellent and they played some good football at times.
Ed Farrell added to his hat trick with a fourth and Carter Brophy chipped in with two well taken goals and a long range effort from Freddie Barker which the GK could not handle wrapped it up.
U14s – won 8-3. Goalscorers included Jyrel Bojang, Joe Bricknell, Harry Lamb.
U15s – won 4-2.
U16s – won 6-2.
With only 11 players available Diamonds started the first period very brightly and two goals in quick succession the second a fantastic strike from Durrell Wade and then another put Diamonds 3-0 up in the first period.
The next two periods ebbed and flowed with MK Dons really trying to get back in to the game and then hard work paid off in the third period as they pulled a goal back.
Fourth period and formation change from Diamonds as we regained control and added a further three goals to finish the game off.
