Diamonds add Parkinson

AFC Rushden & Diamonds are pleased to announce the signing of centre half Arron Parkinson.

34 year old Arron joins from Uhlsport Hellenic League side Easington Sports and brings a wealth of experience having played for Woodford United, Leamington, Brackley Town, Wellingborough Town, Daventry United and Banbury United. Arron has won the United Counties League Premier Divison on two occasions as captain, whilst at Woodford and Daventry and also wore the skipper’s armband during his time at Leamington.

Manager Mark Starmer feels that Arron is a great addition to the club. “With eighteen games left to play between now and the first weekend in May, we felt that we needed to add an experienced centre half to the squad to complement Alex (Deakin) and Chris (Hope) and Arron certainly fits the bill. He will provide significant competition for them and we will now have additional cover in that position going into an extended period where there will often be two games per week.”
