Diamonds to Face London Colney In The FA Cup

The draw for the 2013-14 FA Cup with Budweiser was made at FA Headquarters on July 5th.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds will enter the FA Cup at the extra-preliminary round stage, and will travel to face London Colney.

The winner of that tie will then travel to face Northwood in the preliminary round, and the winners there will also have to travel – to face either Cockfosters or Hanwell Town or Hadley or Oxhey Jets in the first qualifying round.

The Diamonds first ever game in the historic competition, the trip to London Colney, is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 17th August 2013. London Colney play in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division, which is a Step 5 League equivalent to the UCL Premier. Last season they finished in 7th position in that league, with 69 points from 42 games. They play at Cotlandswick Playing Fields, with their ground just north of the M25, to the south-east of St Albans.

Dates for the other rounds of the competition are here.

Details of the full draw are here.

The fixture date and other match details will be confirmed once agreed between the two clubs.
