Last weekend, our Academy U11, U12, U13 and U14 squads ended their seasons by attending the AFC Dunstable tournament. The weather was set fair and the bacon rolls that were on offer for the watching parents were well received, as was the great organisation and hosting.
On the pitch, all our squads played well with good team spirit and whose behaviour was a real credit to our club. The U11s reached the semi-final of the competition before losing out on penalties.
The Under 13s reached the final of their competition having won their semi-final on penalties. In the final the lads recorded a comfortable 2-0 win and left as tournament champions!
Scott Carlin, U13 Academy squad coach, was understandably very proud of his players. Biff commented “This was a great way for my boys to end their season. They fully deserved to win as they work hard, have a great team ethic and show excellent commitment week in, week out. They are a great bunch of lads to coach and my assistant, Ryan Farmer, and I are incredibly proud of them all. We can now have a well-deserved rest before we head to the National Finals at St George’s Park in July.”
Everyone at the Club would like to pass on their congratulations to the U13s and also a big well done to the U11s, U12s and U14s and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents, coaches and assistants who have worked together to make this season a great success.
