Following a poll on AFCDiamonds.com, the winner of the February 2013 Player of the Month award is Alex Deakin. He continued to impress in the Diamonds defence during a month in which the team won all six games, only conceding a single goal. He was also getting forward to support the Diamonds attack at corners and free-kicks, resulting in the vital winning goal at Northampton Sileby Rangers.
The award is sponsored by P.W. House Jewellers of Rushden, who are continuing a long tradition of sponsoring this award, going back many years with R&DFC. Their business has been part of life in Rushden High Street for the last 60 years.
The award was presented by Diamonds’ Manager Mark Starmer before the game against Northampton Sileby Rangers.
