Two of our three new signings gave their thoughts about joining the club as all three took part in the launch evening for the new playing strip and the kit sponsors.
The first of the summer signings in front of AFCRDTV’s microphone was Jason Turner. He commented “I was with Russ Dunkley at Kings Lynn a couple of seasons ago, and so know what he’s all about – as I do with Richard Bunting. I can see there are some good wide players here too, so I’m looking forward to the new season.”
Jason was then asked what changed his mind about a move to the club, given he had been linked with a move last season – “The ambition of the club, having seen they were able to challenge Spalding who were spending a lot of money. I could see that the club were going to give it a go this season, and wanted to be a part of that. I’ve been playing in the UCL for two or three seasons, and have scored a lot of goals in it, so I hope that’s why I was signed up.”
Adam Confue then gave us his thoughts – “I was at Daventry for quite a while, with a short spell at Banbury. I was attracted to the Diamonds on seeing the ambition of the club, and that it is going places. I felt I needed a change, and knew a lot of players here, as well as Andy Peaks and Paul Lamb, so I feel this is the place to come to. I’ll work hard for the team, and hopefully help us get promotion.”
