AFC Rushden & Diamonds entertain Yaxley on Thursday evening in a friendly match at Wellingborough Town’s Dog & Duck ground. The Cuckoos play in the Eastern Division of the NSYL and the match, on paper at least, looks like being a very even contest, with both sides sitting in 3rd place in their respective leagues.
In fact, looking at their playing records throughout the season, there is very little to separate the two sides. Both have won 8 league games and lost 4; Yaxley have scored 4 goals more than Rushden, but the Diamonds have conceded 3 goals fewer.
