From Rushden to Irthlingborough

After an enjoyable visit to Rushden on Saturday for the pre-season friendly game against Rushden & Higham United, a team representing AFC Rushden & Diamonds made the short journey to Irthlingborough on Sunday to play cricket against Irthlingborough Town Cricket Club.

The match was played in an excellent spirit, with the home side recording a narrow victory.

Diamonds Manager Andy Peaks was one of those that put on his whites for the game, and afterwards he thanked all those that had played, as well as those that turned out to support the fixture.

The clubs raised £164 between them from the Raffle, Sandwiches, Cream Teas and Pimms that were on sale.

Note that two Raffle prizes remain unclaimed (see below), so if you have either of them drop a note to Darren Bolland, who will get you in touch to claim the prize(s).

  • 413 BLUE [ Wine ]
  • 803 PINK [ Brooch ]

A small child’s “Bench” (brand) Jacket (Black) was left at the pavilion. It has been left at the ground, so please check with the Cricket Club if it is yours or you know whose it is.
