Further Transfer News

With just over 24 hours to go until AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ first ever senior match in the Chroma Sports and Trophies United Counties League Division One against Thrapston Town (at the Dog & Duck Stadium, Kick off 3pm), the AFC R&D Management team have further strengthened their squad by bringing in Sean McBride (pictured above). A ball-winning central midfielder, Sean spent last season playing for UCL Premier Division side Newport Pagnell Town, making 33 appearances and scoring 4 goals for The Swans. Sean played in AFC R&D’s final pre-season game against Lutterworth Athletic last Saturday and will take the squad number 8.

 

James Broadbent

Former Rushden & Diamonds youth team stopper James Broadbent, who has been with AFC R&D for most of the pre-season campaign, has also signed UCL registration forms for the Diamonds and will take the squad number 23.

 

Manny Soetan

In other news, striker Immanuel Soetan has left The Diamonds to return to UCL Division One rivals Olney Town. The club would like to wish “Manny” luck in his future career and thank him for his contribution to pre-season preparations.

 

Matthew Brady

Meanwhile, central midfielder Matthew Brady has signed forms for Spartan South Midlands League Division One side Winslow United. Brady will remain on UCL registration forms at AFC R&D meaning that he may return to The Dog & Duck during the season. He has been allocated the squad number 24.
