Harrowby United v AFC Rushden & Diamonds

AFC Rushden & Diamonds head to Lincolnshire as they return to league action at the weekend for their third UCL Premier game – all of which have been on the road – with a visit to the Grantham area to face Harrowby United on Saturday afternoon. The Arrows have joined the UCL Premier this season, with the two sides having met early in 2012-13 when both sides were finding their feet in the UCL.

The facilities at Dickens Road include a licenced bar in a lounge area as well as a snack bar. Entry to the game is £5 for adults, with concessions £4 and children free.

The club is running a coach for this fixture – see here for details.

Any Diamonds fan who was considering  making an early start and going via Peterborough Sports to watch the Diamonds U21s play their first game in the UCL U21 side should note that this game will no longer be taking place.

Our Opponents

The current Harrowby United club re-formed in 2012 following the closure of an earlier club that had previously held that name before becoming Grantham Rangers. The original club was formed in 1949 and entered the UCL in 1990, resigning from the league in 2006. After reentering the UCL Division One in 2012 they spent two seasons at that level, finishing third last season and being invited to move up to the UCL Premier.

The Arrows are managed by Mark Fardell who took over the role on a solo basis after co-manager Jay Harrison departed three games into the new season. Their club colours are red and black, with their club website here, and their twitter feed here.
