Jake Gillingwater takes on sponsored Cycle Challenge

Starting at the end of October, Jake Gillingwater and his Dad, Martin will be taking part in a 500km charity cycle ride from Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia to help raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research giving hope to families like theirs. After being on the bench on Tuesday evening for the FA Cup game, Jake is now in Ho Chi Minh City (more commonly known in the West as Saigon) getting ready for the long ride. You can follow his tweets about the trip at https://twitter.com/jakegilly

At the age of 50, Jake’s uncle and Martin’s brother, Mick, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. After a long fight he achieved his goal and was given the all clear in 2009. Twelve years on, Mick is still going strong and able to enjoy all aspects of his life with his extended family and friends.

We hope you can help them reach their target to give to this brilliant charity, so they can help many other people get through this terrible illness and have a future with their families and continue to experience life to the full.
