Following a poll on AFCDiamonds.com, the winner of the January 2016 Player of the Month award is Shawn Richards. After joining the club towards the end of 2015, Shawn quickly impressed Diamonds fans with his performances, and thus picks up the first monthly award of 2016. He took the man of the match award in the first completed game of the month at Northwood, and scored goals in the following two games, rewarded with a further man of the match award.
The award is sponsored by P.W. House Jewellers of Rushden, who are continuing a long tradition of sponsoring this award, going back many years with R&DFC. Their business has been part of life in Rushden High Street for the last 60 years.
The award was presented by club chairman Ralph Burditt before the game against Kings Langley.
