Lutterworth Athletic v AFC Rushden & Diamonds XI
An AFC Rushden & Diamonds XI travel to Lutterworth to face Lutterworth Athletic on Thursday evening. This game will also be a chance to see a mix of players, some of whom may form the nucleus of the planned Diamonds U21 side.
Our Opponents
The two teams have already met twice in the short history of AFC Rushden & Diamonds, with both games having finished as draws, most notably in the first game between the teams 12 months ago, when an injury time goal from Alex Deakin made the scoreline 2-2 – report here.
The Athletic won promotion to the East Midlands Counties League for the 2012-13 season, and have now switched to play in Division One of the United Counties League. Their club colours are green and white.
Directions
Hall Park is to the north of Lutterworth, some distance from the town itself. The ground is around 35 miles from the Dog & Duck at Hall Park, Hall Lane, Bitteswell, Lutterworth LE17 4LN – directions here. There is a large car park at the ground, and the entrance gate for spectators is across a walkway from the clubhouse – although this is at right-angles to the walkway, so may not be immediately obvious for the first-time visitor.
Travel by public transport is not an easy option for this game, but details of possible options can be found on the Traveline website
