Following the sudden passing of our friend, Mal Swinden, his brother, Kevin, has now shared details of his funeral.
Malcolm will be laid to rest in Wollaston Cemetery at 11.00am after a (sadly restricted) 10am service at St Mary’s Church Wollaston on Monday, 1st March 2021.
Sadly, supporters will not be able to attend the service due to Covid restrictions but if you would like to show your respects and Wollaston is within your local area, the route from the church to the Cemetery on Cobbs Lane has a good footpath. Please do not block the road and ensure that current social distancing requirements are adhered to at all times. Supporters wishing to send flowers should send them, to be received before March 1st, to:
Chambers & Brighty Funeral Directors,
5-9 Buckwell End,
Wellingborough.
NN8 4LR
Mal’s family have also set up a Just Giving page supporting 3 charities that were very close to Mal’s heart – The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, The RNLI and The Royal Papworth Hospital Charity. Supporters wishing to make a donation to these worthy causes can do so here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/kevin-swinden?utm_term.2R2D6Nneg&fbclid=IwAR1xRrW-74Uukc1JQzGykICRDtsX8PukC7BuF8Lt22yrVuBZQXxiQuLVdl0
The Club has arranged for flowers to be sent and we are in the initial stages of planning an event/match in Mal’s memory when football re-commences. We will, of course, keep everyone updated on that but in the meantime, when you next have the opportunity, please raise a toast to Kevin’s only super brother and our dear friend, Malcolm.
