Martin Jenkins appointed as new Head of Academy

AFC Rushden & Diamonds is very pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Jenkins as our new Head of Academy.

Martin, who will remain as coach of the Academy U14 squad, takes over from Gareth Ivett and brings with him a wealth of experience and new ideas for the Academy and Development squads.

Speaking to the club, Martin commented “I am delighted to have been given this opportunity. We have an Academy to be proud of and I’m looking forward to working with my team to make it even better!”

The academy currently has 5 squads from U12 – U16 playing in the Junior Premier League and has recently seen Joe Ackroyd play, and score, for the first team having made his way through the youth system.

We wish Martin lots of luck in his new role and would also like to send best wishes to Gareth Ivett as he moves on to pastures new.

The Academy season resumes with training on January 4th and matches on Saturday January 9th.

Happy New Year to all our players, coaches, staff and volunteers.
