Miguel Ngwa returns

AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce that 19-year-old wide midfielder Miguel Ngwa has returned to the Club from fellow Northern Premier League Midlands Division side Spalding United.

It is almost a year to the day that Miguel departed the Diamonds after scoring a late, memorable winner against St Ives Town at Hayden Road. Whilst on loan from Northampton Town, Miguel played a key role in the first half of the 2021/22 season, scoring 3 times in 21 appearances.

After leaving the Diamonds, Miguel spent time on loan at play-off winners Rushall Olympic and latterly Spalding United. Following his release from Northampton Town in the summer, he joined Barwell of the Southern League Premier Central Division, before rejoining the Tulips earlier this season.

Miguel is well known to Rushden manager Michael Harriman as the two were teammates at the Cobblers. As a result, he’s been on the Manager’s wish list for a while and Michael is pleased to be able to get his man: “I’m absolutely delighted to be able to bring Miguel back to the Club. I know all about him, what a talent he is and what he can bring to the squad immediately. As Diamonds fans will know, he has the ability to take players on and make things happen in the attacking third. He’s an exciting player to watch and I’m sure he’s going to play a big role for us between now and the end of the season.”

Miguel is available for selection for our New Year’s Day clash against Corby Town in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.
