AFC Rushden & Diamonds will take on Histon FC in a friendly game on the 3G Astroturf pitch at St Neots Town FC, as they kick off a weekend of football at the Hunts Post Community Stadium.
The Histon game will kick off at 10:30am on Saturday 14th January, before St Neots Town take on Woodford United at 3:00pm that afternoon. Supporters wishing to stay on and watch the Saints first team can take advantage of our partnership scheme, whereby £2 of the £8 entry fee will be donated back to AFC Rushden & Diamonds. To qualify for this partnership scheme, Diamonds supporters will need to present a partnership card (pictured below). These will be available at the Histon friendly on the Saturday morning, and at the NSYL match against Bugbrooke St. Michaels on Thursday 12th January (match preview HERE).
The weekend will finish with St Neots Town XI v Mark Starmer’s Ex-Diamonds XI, on the main pitch, on Sunday 15th January, 2:00pm kick off (match preview HERE).
The game against Histon will no doubt bring back memories of the 8 games between Rushden & Diamonds and Histon over the past 4 seasons. Diamonds fans are likely to have tried to erase any memories of the first 3 games, which all ended in single goal victories for the Stutes, however, revenge was gained over the last couple of seasons as Rushden twice did the double over the Cambridgeshire side.
