AFC Rushden & Diamonds are delighted to announce the signing of a new lease at Hayden Road, which confirms the Club’s tenure at the ground until the end of the 2022-23 season.
Chairman Ralph Burditt told afcdiamonds.com “This is great news for AFC Rushden & Diamonds. I would like to extend my sincere thanks on behalf of the Club to both Hayden Road landlords Rushden Sports, and to Rushden & Higham United, without whom this would not have been possible. With this important step in place, we can now concentrate on establishing ourselves at Step 3 on and off the field.”
Rushden & Higham Chairman Aidy Mann stated “Rushden and Higham Utd FC are delighted to have granted a further 5 years extension to the groundshare lease we hold with AFCR&D. This has already proven to be a great success for both clubs and it’s supporters, it has also given both clubs some much needed security. We look forward to continuing to build on the great relationship we have between the two clubs and the wider community.”
Since AFC Rushden & Diamonds moved back to Rushden in 2016, volunteers have spent thousands of hours in order to reach ground grading. This continues with work currently ongoing to renovate the main stand.
